MPH Program Overview
The University of New England’s Master of Public Health program is 100% online and accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). UNE offers two fully articulated graduate programs. Working adults and post-baccalaureate students can now earn a Graduate Certificate in Public Health (GCPH) or a Master of Public Health degree (MPH) online, full or part time. The MPH curriculum is designed to enhance students’ skills in a variety of professional public health areas including global health, program development and planning, financial management, leadership, health literacy, policy, law, and ethics.

MPH Curriculum and Courses
There are numerous programs that make up the overall curricular requirements of the program. It begins with five core classes:
- Social and Behavioral Health
- Biostatistics
- Public Health Policy and Management
- Introduction to Environmental Health
- Principles of Epidemiology
There are also numerous additional required courses and electives. Additional required courses include:
- Research Methods
- Principles of Public Health Concepts
Students must choose seven electives from a list of ten. Some examples of these electives include:
- Global Health
- Occupational Health
- Public Health Law and Ethics
- Public Health Administration
- Health Literacy and Plain Language
In addition to the course work a practicum of Practical experience and a capstone project must both be completed as well in order to qualify for graduation.
MPH Admissions
Students must submit several different documents and meet several requirements including:
- GPA of 3.0
- No GRE Score Required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Letter of Intent
- Letters of Recommendation
MPH Tuition and Financial Aid
In addition to application fees and charges, the base cost of the program is six hundred dollars per credit hour. There are numerous financial aid options available from the school including grants, scholarships, loans, fellowships, and other options. Many medical employers now offer various types of tuition assistance programs as well and those currently employed by a health facility could find that there are options for them from their employers.
