MPH Program Overview

This campus-based MPH program is designed to fit into a variety of different student schedules. Those enrolling in the program are often students in various other areas of medicine, and a dual degree program is possible. Additionally, those working in the health field or recent grads from a medical program often elect to take the MPH program and further their careers. The program provides five different areas of specialization to choose from and allows students to focus their education on the specific area they want their career to move forward in.

MPH Curriculum and Courses

The MPH program is made up of numerous core competencies that will be the cornerstones of the educational process. These include:

• Health Policy
• Social and Behavioral Science
• Epidemiology and Biostatistics
• Health Organization and Systems Management
• Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences and Policy

There are also five concentration areas that will help lead a student toward their ultimate goals. These include:

• Nutrition
• Epidemiology/Biostatistics
• Global Health
• Health Services Management and Policy
• Health Communication

MPH Admissions

There are several things that students will have to submit during the application process for the MPH program. These include things like:

• Transcripts from undergraduate studies
• Letters of Recommendation
• Personal Essays
• GRE Scores

Obviously, higher GPAs and GRE scores are preferred and will help improve a student’s chances of gaining acceptance into the program.

MPH Tuition and Financial Aid

Full time tuition costs at Tufts are currently 43,688 dollars plus various fees. Part time students will be charged on a per-credit basis along with various fees and charges. A financial officer can help track down the best loans, grants, and scholarship opportunities for one to apply to. Additionally, those who are currently employed should check to see if their employer offers a tuition assistance or tuition reimbursement program which could help to pay for the MPH degree in part or even in full.
