Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education

The male School of Graduate Medical Education offers a unique Women’s Help Fellowship program which provides interested individuals with either a two year or 18 months postgraduate education. Interested individuals can choose from either an 18 month multidisciplinary clinical program or a two-year program which includes one year of coursework towards a Master in Public Health. The second program is provided in partnership with the University of Minnesota-Rochester and is followed by a year of scholarly training and clinical work. This program provides interested individuals with a unique opportunity to earn the degree of their choosing while gaining real-world experience. This fellowship was designed with the sole intent of developing leaders in the growing field of women’s health. The individuals behind the program hope to improve the health care for women of every race and income level. This program was initially designed in 1997 and the interdisciplinary practice includes studies of diseases and issues predominately related to females in one of the most state-of-the-art hospital environments in the country. The number of openings is relatively limited compared to some of the other graduate programs available, but those that take part in this particular program will gain experience unlike anything else currently available.
