The Maine Muskie School of Public Health program has been designed to prepare students for the rapidly changing world of public health. Students work closely with nationally recognized members of the faculty to develop the skill set they need to effectively deliver health services, manage solutions, analyze options and defined strategies so that they can effectively fulfill their duties as public health professionals. The program at the school has been nationally credited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education. One of the primary focuses of the program is to provide students with real-world experience so that they do not enter the professional world unprepared for the challenges ahead of them. So the program areas include healthcare access and financing, rural health policy, disability and aging, dental health, chronic illness, and quality management and improvement.
