The APHA.org (American Public Health Association) just released this stunning little infographic highlighting ways to keep our kids and communities healthy, strong and safe. A couple notable sections include prevention programs in your community as well as how public health saves money. I particularly like the use of Benjamin Franklin’s quote, ‘An ounce of prevention is a worth a pound of cure”. Still ringing true 300+ years later. Amazing isn’t it? For those who don’t know, Mr. Franklin was also a diplomat and co-founder of America’s first public hospital. He repeatedly used his skills with pen and press to show support of innovations that could make a difference in Public health, such as the Smallpox inoculation.
