MPH Program Overview
The MPH Program from the University of Georgia utilizes a combination of on campus training with field learning to help provide students with the deepest possible level of understanding in the field. Those who enroll will be qualified to assume positions in the public and private sector completing research and designing public health programs to increase the overall health of the population. There are also several dual degree options for those currently considering other areas of study.
MPH Curriculum
The MPH program focuses on a number of different classes. It is built around a core curriculum and then students select one of several concentration areas. These concentration areas are all covered during the program, but upon selecting one to focus on the curriculum will focus much more intently upon it than on the other subjects. Areas of concentration include:
• Environmental Health
• Health Policy and Management
• Biostatistics
• Epidemiology
• Health Promotion and Behavior
MPH Admissions
Students will be required to submit numerous things when they apply to the MPH program. Some of the key requisites include:
• Combined MPH score of 1,000 between verbal and quantitative scores
• 3.0 GPA during undergraduate studies
• Completion of Environmental Health Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry classes.
Along with these requisites and their transcripts, students will need to submit letters of recommendation, a completed application, and a statement of purpose.
MPH Tuition and Financial Aid
Total tuition costs for the MPH program are charged by the credit hour. Instate students will pay a total of 1427 dollars in tuition and fees for each credit hour, while out of state students will pay 2032 dollars for each credit hour. There are numerous programs, loans, grants, and scholarships available to help students afford their education including things like assistantships and more.
