MPH Program Overview

The MPH at Arcadia University is an entry-level degree in public health. The degree provides training, which focuses on health needs of domestic and international communities. Students will be educated as community public health professionals for the promotion of individual, family, community, and environmental health.The program integrates research, practice, and education on a worldwide scale.

The Public Health program at Arcadia University strives to educate community minded public health professionals while developing skills necessary to the promotion of community-wide health. The academic environment will integrate education with research and practice and nurture an understanding of the connection between human rights and health status. As part of the program, students will have an opportunity to translate knowledge into practice through internships and other programs with local health departments and other community organizations.

MPH Curriculum and Courses

The core curriculum of this MPH includes five core areas of public health. These comprise 27 degree credits and includes content in the following areas:

  • Epidemiology
  • Biostatistics
  • Social and Behavioral Sciences
  • Environmental health
  • Health Care Administration

The Arcadia MPH also offers a variety of electives designed to prepare students to enter into the field of public health. Six credits will be derived from these electives.

An internship and a capstone project are also required to complete the MPH. These will make up the final nine credits of the degree.

MPH Admissions

A completed application to the MPH program at Arcadia University will include the following:

  • A completed Graduate School application.
  • Official transcripts from all previous schools.
  • Three letters of recommendation (one from a professor, one from a health professional.)
  • Scores from a GRE, GMAT, MAT, or MCAT.

Strong applicants will have maintained at least a 3.0 GPA in their undergraduate work and have knowledge of public health through either work or volunteer experience.

MPH Tuition and Financial Aid

The tuition for the MPH at Arcadia currently stands at $690 per credit. Other fees and expenses may be applicable. Students should fill out the FAFSA before each school year.
